Landscaping

The residential landscape scheme was very well executed. A clear programme was communicated from the start and sequencing of works agreed. Plants were pre-tagged to keep to deadline and samples of hard landscape materials agreed early in the contract to avoid any supply delays. The client was part of the progress meetings each week and was kept upto date and allowed to input any changes to design brief as part of the process, which were duly accommodated with positive ‘can do’ approach. The team were extremely polite, kept a tidy site, were fully H&S aware at all times, and any subcontractors well managed. They went out of their way to ensure neighbours were informed of any noisy or shared boundary works well ahead of planned date.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Hamilton and his team for a number of months on a recent client project. Hamilton is a consummate professional. When he agrees to deliver a quote - be it for his own services or sourced from a third party - it is delivered quickly, succinctly and with clarity.
Hamilton’s advice was always carefully considered, listening to the client’s wishes, and coming up with creative solutions when appropriate. Hamilton’s team managed hard landscaping, tree planting, smaller shrub, bulb etc. planting, groundwork and driveway preparation and, through third parties managed resin based driveway and artificial lawn installation.

On this particular project, where I was interior designer, Hamilton’s team had the difficult job of access only through an almost complete, expensively floored house. The team were fastidious about protecting floors, keeping all access areas clean, and were very respectful of the finishes of the project as a whole.

It is testament to the quality of the work, that the client requested that Hamilton’s team create a monthly maintenance plan which is now well underway. I hope we get the opportunity to work together again in the future.

We engaged McNaughtons to complete all our outside works after a major house renovation. The project comprised two main parts (1) Rear garden landscaping, including grading and re-seeding a large lawn, building a raised bed in Oak, constructing steps, etc. (2) Constructing a path and front drive parking area in cobbles.

Prior to the project starting Hamilton McNaughton made several visits to clarify the requirements and submitted a fixed price quote. We found him to be extremely helpful and creative during this phase.

Once the work started, an excellent team were present for about a month, led by the very impressive Cameron. We found them to be polite and friendly, hardworking, good time keepers, sensitive and considerate to our neighbours, professional, with a real attention to detail. The work was finished on budget and by our deadline. We are delighted with the outcome.
