McNaughton’s constructed this garden at the rear of the property in Tonbridge, Kent. The garden was designed by garden designer Angela Newman.
The property was recently purchased by a young family who were looking to transform the hugely overgrown and dilapidated garden into a fun, smart and useable space to raise their children.
Firstly the garden was stripped back to the bare bones exposing a lovely stream at the bottom of the garden. It was then divided up into triangular areas, a raised oak vegetable growing bed in one corner, a bark chip play area in another and various surfaces throughout. The patio was paved with a cream limestone which has a gentle relief ideal for little feet. A diagonal pathway constructed with red brick pavers which gives a striking ribbon of colour. Various raised beds were constructed with large oak sleepers two of which tie seamlessly into a set of solid oak steps which allow access to the drive.
The project was a pleasure to construct and the garden is being thoroughly enjoyed by the family and their new baby who are delighted with their new garden.
